Tuesday's Blog

Morning Work

The children made some great choices during morning work and worked together very nicely. Morning work is a great time to develop fine motor activities, develop some academic skills like number sense.

Holly matches apples to numbers.

Landon works with the geoboards.

Luke made some straight lines on the geoboards!

Zoey counts beads and pushes them into a jar.

Indie pushes beads into the jar. This is a great fine motor activity!

Fun with play dough!

Jesus Time

Mr. Lion came out during Jesus Time and did a devotional where he reminded the children they can always trust God. That God will always keep His promises. We learned a short song.. (sung to Are You Sleeping)

Thank you, Father (children echo)

For Your care. (Echo)

Thank You for Your blessings. (Echo)

We trust You. (Echo)

Outdoor Time

When we went outside we noticed ew signs on the playground reminding us of the things Mrs. Helmkamp discussed with us yesterday. The children enjoyed discovering all of the signs and we read each one and talked about what each meant.

Climbing on the big rocks is good to develop those large motor skills. Carrying heaving things, like the logs, is great proprioceptive input for our brains. It gives young, growing bodies, a sense of body awareness and control over force and pressure.

Center Time

Another great day at centers. Lots of activity but everyone got along so well and worked on so many things... apple activities, fun in the Farmer's Market, kinetic sand in the sensory table, reading, building!

Beckett draws animals.

Levi and Simon build together.

Simon is so proud of his creations!

I caught Millie reading by herself in the library area!

Landan reads the pop-up Noah's Ark book.

Luke adds all of the animals to the ark!

Our Farmer's Market continues to be a popular Center. The children are getting along so well using the materials provided. Sharing and taking turns and developing language skills as well.

Harrison weighs an apple and a pumpkin. Which one is heavier?

Harrison builds a ramp for a truck

Discovering hidden jewels in the sensory table!
