Thursday's Blog

 Jesus Time

We continued to talk about Creation and retold the story through these fun Creation nesting blocks. I also put the blocks out during Center Time and a few children chose to retell the story on their own!

Fun in the Sun!

God gave us another beautiful day! I observed three girls helping each other jump off of a tire. One child could do it easily while others were having trouble, so they decided to do it together! Then they proceeded to work together and rolled the tire around the entire playground! Cooperation and communication at its best! These are the blessed things I get to observe everyday in preschool. So much is learned when we play!

Nora is making a campfire.

Painting With Cars

A few more friends chose to box paint with cars today. I am making a display of our art work outside our classroom. We also observed color mixing when the paint colors mixed! It was so cool! Different cars also made different types of tire tracks.

Handwriting

We practiced making the letter F with one long line and two small lines. Then we watched a short video about Frannie the Fan and made her sound /f/ /f/ /f/

We also reviewed the other letters we learned this year: T for Ticking Timer /t/ /t/ /t/ and L for Lapping Lion /l/ /l/ /l/

Rainbows & Colors

Harrion S. was our librarian and he picked a non-fiction book about rainbows for us to read. Before we read we predicted how rainbows are made. Levi knew! He said you need sun and water. The book told us about prisms and how prisms take light like the sun and break it showing the rainbow inside. We learned that raindrops are like tiny prisms, cutting the suns light, and that creates a rainbow! We talked about how the colors of a rainbow are always in the same order: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet and how the colors in the middle are what form when you mix the other two together!

Now that everyone has been taught how to mix colors, the color mixing has become a center choice. Several children chose to explore with color mixing today.

Cars
The children are really enjoying the cars. Thank you for bringing them in to share.
