Thursday's Blog

Another busy day in pre-k! Below are a few highlights. I didn't capture as many photos today because we had so much going on!

Chapel

Mr. Marolf, Zion's principal, along with some amazing 8th grade helpers, led chapel in The Commons. They talked about Noah listening to God and preparing an ark and putting two of every kind of animal in the ark. Then Mr. Marolf asked if it would be easy to get all of the animals in the ark? He had the 8th grade girls coral pretend animals (balloons) into a pretend ark (a plastic bucket) and we found out it was hard work! Sometimes God gives us hard work to do, but when we trust in Him, God can help us make it through these hard times.

Renesmae carried our cross to chapel.

Ready for chapel to begin.

Mr. Marolf and four 8th graders led chapel.

Was it hard for Noah to get all of the animals into the ark?

Renesmae took our offering up.

Outside Fun!

Ava has fun on the slide!

Lyla goes down the slide.

A few of the girls found a good hiding place under the tires! Can you spot Nora, Zoey, and Aavya?

Simon found a branch!

My daughter Lillian Talley (in the green) and her best friend, Abby Helmkamp (in the pink) plant fall  mums on our playground.

Centers

We had fun in our Farmer's Market, some friends made an Apples! Apples! Apples! book, others built, some did art. So much to do!

Happy Birthday Mrs. Oswald!

We continued to make a special book for Mrs. Oswald's birthday, which is today! Mrs. Koenen will deliver it to her this afternoon. We also recorded a special video for her which I included below.

Reading

We read another fun apple book that reviewed everything we have been learning about apples! Ask your child to tell you something they learned about apples... apples come in different colors, grow on tress, apple trees change throughout the seasons (flowers in spring, leaves in summer, apples in fall, bare in winter), apples come in thousands of different varieties, we can make a lot of things from apples (cider, apple juice, muffins, pie, cookies, apple pizza), apple trees have roots in the ground.

Avaya and Zoey read together.

Zoey read the Apples! Apples! Apples! book all by herself!

Abikriti and Landon read Mrs. Wishy Washy together.

Beckett reads Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Nora reads Apples! Apples! Apples! to the class! Great job!
