Tuesday's Blog

Happy Birthday Mrs. Koenen!
Thank you for sending birthday cards and messages for Mrs. Koenen's birthday. She was so surprised and thanks each and every one of you! We sang "Happy Birthday" and "God's Blessings" to her before we left for the day. She also received many birthday hugs!

Apples
We began talking about apples in class and the children knew so very much. We read the book "Fall Apple Fun." Then Luke shared his recent adventures at the apple orchard. We talked about different varieties of apples, different colors of apples, parts of the apple, how an apple grows, and what we can make out of apples. Wow!
Then during centers we took an apple taste test where the children tasted red (red delicious), yellow (golden delicious), and green (Granny Smith) apples. Then the students voted on which variety was their favorite.

This book gave us a lot of information about apples. although not very long, it even had "chapters."

Mrs. Talley shows us red, green, and yellow apples!

It was fun to do the apple taste test.

Harrison loved green Granny Smith the best!

Mrs. Koenen shows the class the star in the center of the apple when you cut it in half.

Aaviya chose green Granny Smith too!

Zoey liked Red Delicious the best!

Outside Time
God created another beautiful day! We enjoyed some fun time outside.

Indie had a hurt leg and Annibella and Holly were nurses who put medicine on it to make it feel better.

Lyla uses a magnify class to look closer at a fall flower.

Beckett looks at a flower with the magnify glass.

On the way back to our classroom we did an obstacle course with the stepping stones.

Dot Art
We created more dot art during centers today.

More Center Fun!
Several friends enjoyed playing in the kitchen before it gets transformed into a fall harvest store. More creative building was observed as well.

Holly found two elephants like the two elephants that went on Noah's ark!

The Letter E
The mystery bag revealed clues that told us this week's letter is E. Lyla figured it out and made the letter for us with one big straight line and three short straight lines! Way to go Lyla!
