Monday's Blog

We had a wonderful Monday! The children worked so well together, especially during center time! It made for the perfect day!

Outdoor Time

Zoey and Annibella hide under the tire!

Selah has found a permanent job of cleaning the dew off of our slide every morning!

Luke explores the bamboo.

Oh no, a roadblock!

J.J. and Luke having fun n the bamboo.

Harrison discovers part of a plant on the playground.

Simon found a piece of a log that looks like a claw or a talon from a raptor!

Annibella wanted to dance on the stage so I turned on some music.

She drew an audience!

And then she taught friends in Mrs. Cooper's class how to dance! This was the best thing to observe!

On the walk back to our classroom we spotted a cricket. We stopped and observed it.

Our New Letter

The children figured out that today's Mystery Letter was the letter A! We make the letter A with two slanted big lines and one short line across.

Reading
I love "catching" my students reading the books we have learned to read at school! There were a lot of friends who chose to read these familiar books today.

A New Center... Fixing a Rumba Vacuum!

I introduced a new center today and it was very popular. The students loved taking apart this old Rumba vacuum with real tools. We gathered together first to go over safety procedures (you must wear safety glasses) and take turns and work together.

Center Time

This was a perfect center time. Everyone was working so nicely and sharing.

Fun with farm animals in the kinetic mud!

Look at the amazing train track Olivia and Luke G. worked on!

I loved seeing the collaboration.

J.J. and Luke M. join in the build.

Selah and Renesmae work on apple books.

Luke M. is the cashier and Renesmae is the shopper.

Nora and Luke check off items on the Farmers Market check-list.

J.J. goes shopping.

We got the dress up figures out and they were so much fun!

Simon wanted a photo of his hockey player.

Friday's Blog

 Outside Time

Another beautiful day! We noticed some of the pumpkins are beginning to turn from green to yellow. They may be ready to be picked very soon!

Selah checks on the pumpkins.

Soon the flowers will turn into tiny green pumpkin.

The mums my daughter and her friend planted are really looking good!

Holly goes down the slide!

Landon and Beckett have fun in the tires!

Making friends on the playground.

Ava counts to ten while playing hide-and-seek.

Leo hides.

Apples! Apples! Apples!

A few more friends worked on their Apples! Apples! Apples! book. After practicing, J.J., reads his book to the class! We read another boo about apples during storytime.

Great job J.J.!

Writing

A few friends practiced writing the letters we have introduced.

Reading With Reading Buddies

I introduced stuffed "reading buddies" to the class. During centers, the children can choose to a stuffed "reading buddy" and a book and read. A few friends checked it out!

Centers!

We had a lot of fun at centers... acting out Mrs. Wishy Washy in the mud colored kinetic sand, sensory table, painting, light table, Farmer's Market Fun, fall coloring sheets, Noah's ark.
