Monday's Blog

 Rainbows

I put out some rainbow coloring pages and the children loved them! I had to make more copies after school. Some colored their rainbows with markers while others chose to paint with watercolors. Notice one of our soon to be five year old classmates is writing on her picture? I loved seeing this!

Outside Time
The friends who were here on Friday enjoyed showing their classmates the pumpkins growing on our playground. We also have new dirt to play with and that was a popular place to explore.

Reading
We read the book "Today is Monday" by Eric Carle. We learned the days of the week through song in this book and also looked at the other books we have read this year that were written and illustrated by Eric Carle. Eric Carle is one of Mrs. Talley's favorite authors! Luke chose another favorite book for us to read.. Pete the Cat. We have read it several times this year and the children enjoy reading along!

Circle Time
We reviewed letters today: L, T and F. Mr. Lion made a visit and the children told him how he needs to behave on the blue carpet... Eyes are watching, Ears are listening, Voices quiet, and Bodies calm.

Levi's 5th Birthday!
Today was Levi's 5th birthday! He got to decorate his birthday crown and proudly wore it all day. He also painted his birthday lantern and his dad, Mr. Coons, came to class and read us a special book. I love having dads as guest readers! We sang "Happy Birthday" and "God's Blessings" to Levi, and Mrs. Talley gave him 5 birthday hugs plus 1 to grow on!

Snack Time
It was another no spill day at snack!

Building Our Own Cars
I got some special lego type of building pieces out during Center Time and several friends made their own cars!

Sensory Table
I introduced the class to the sensory table today. Several children had fun with the macaroni and beans. I also had some helpers volunteer to do some extra clean up. Way to go Leo and Annibella!

Zoey was our Invocation Leader. She was so proud of herself for remembering what to do. I'm proud of her too!
