What an exciting day! Our schedule was a bit crazy but the children adapted well to the changes. I was very proud of them.
Music Time
We read the book "Today in Monday" and talked about the days of the week and then we sang the song with instruments! Everyone got a special instrument to play while we sang. Mrs. Talley told us the name of each instrument and how to pay it properly. We also worked on keeping a steady beat with our instrument while we sang. It was so much fun!!!
Earthquake Drill
The children did well with the earthquake drill. When our principal, Mr. Marolf signaled that it was time to take shelter, we all found a table to duck under. Mrs. Talley's daughter and her friend had hidden stickers under the table for us to find so that was fun! Then when we were given the all clear we walked to the big field and gathered with the entire school so everyone could be counted as safe!
Playing in the Pine Yard
We got to play in the pine yard playground today! How fun! Some children collected pine cones, others played with monster trucks, generously donated by Harrison S. and his family! Thank you Harrison S. We sure had fun making the trucks go down the slide, sharing the names of the trucks with our friends, and making the trucks drive over the rough ground in the pine yard!
Center Fun
Lots of fun at centers today. Color mixing, sensory table, car building, and playing with animals!
Happy Birthday Harrison A!!!
Harrison A. had a birthday! He is now 5 years old! Harrison enjoyed decorating his birthday crown and lantern and having his mommy come to school and read a special birthday book to our class! We sang "Happy Birthday" and "God's Blessings" to Harrison and then Mrs. Talley gave Harrison 5 birthday hugs plus 1 to grow on!
