 Outdoor Time

God has blessed us with so many beautiful outdoor days this fall!

Boys taking a break in the shade!

Chapel

Chapel was very special today because we brought Super Hero toys for our offering. These toys will go to boys and girls who are sick and in the hospital. It is so nice to serve others! Zion 3rd graders and their teachers led chapel. I did some subbing for these students when they were three and four years old and now they are in 3rd grade! They spoke to us about kindness and sharing and led us in a a fun version of "This Little Light of Mine." Oaklynn carried the cross to chapel ad took up our chapel offering.

Leo sits with his daddy who is a pre-k assistant in Mrs. Rouland's calss.

This is Zoey, Simon's sister. She is one of the 3rd graders who led chapel.

Super Hero Day!

We talked about real "Super Heroes" in our lives and the children mentioned firefighters and police officers. Oaklynn said that Jesus is our Super Hero! Yes, He is! Way to go Oaklynn! And Olivia mentioned that God is a Super Hero. Great thinking girls. You made my heart so happy!!!

Mrs. Koenen helped some friends make super hero masks during centers.

Our class dressed as Super Heroes!

Making Self Portraits
We read a book about how God made us different and talked about what our self portraits would include.

There's a Spider on the Floor on the Floor!
This week we have been singing and acting out the song, "There's a Spider on the Floor!" Each child was given a spider ring and had to listen to the song and put their spider where the song says... on you stomach, on your leg, on your head... Here is a link to Raffi's version of the song, my favorite version!!!

Our read aloud for the day was about a funny spider.
