Morning work time...
I love watching new friendships form....
Brody and Evie have really bonded this week
They both love to spend time
creating!!

Roselee and Carly spent morning
work time together

Eddie, Charlie and Colton
spent a lot of time
with play doh!

Trente and Carson were having fun
playing with the counters

We chatted about was to keep our
friends safe at school
safety rules

some friends said things
run outside
keep hands to yourself

But we also talked about how sometimes
it is fun to roll around and sometimes
my friends roll on each other...
which is not always safe

I talked to them about how they
might like the way it feels to roll and
 sometimes we can do that
where it is safe

Many of the children were eager to try
the burrito game

Being rolled tight in a blanket can have
a calming affect on young children
similar to swaddling a baby
But also rolling...especially the
kids who were able to unroll themselves
is developing strength is a variety
of different muscles!
Some didn't think they could do it...but with some
encouragement and maybe a little help....were
able to unroll..... and they were so proud of themselves

Jacket Weather!!!

YAY! I love the cooler weather, but jackets
add something new to preschool
Learning a new skill!!!!!

Some of you probably already know this.....
But here are the steps we teach the kids....

First lay your jacket out
stand by the hood(or where the
the top...for those who don't have a
hood)

Next bend down and put both arms
through arm holes....
Then flip it over your head

Takes a little practice but
keep encouraging your child
to do this... it gives young children
a great sense of independence
once he/she masters this skill

Plus many of the kids noticed
it takes 2 diagonal lines....
This can be a little challenging
But everyone was eager
to try the smartboard

I love it when we see the children
being "Called to Care"
One child spilled and she asked for help
and several children went over immediately

Another child said,
" I like being "Called to
Care"

Brody really like being the exercise
leader... today he choose
Push Ups!!

several thought this was hard
but what a great way to work our
muscles again!!
