Morning Work

Fun with play doh, marbles and adding
parts to the caterpillar

Jesus Time
Watched a video about
Moses and parting the
Red Sea

Sometimes while on the blue carpet...I like to give the
children a chance to share.  Sometime it can be a random
story they would like to share or a question I may ask.

This sharing time is so important for young
children's social development.  Learning to listen while
others are speaking, waiting (waiting is hard)to be
called on and turn taking....
So the children knew would know whose turn it was to
speak, I introduce the class to  a BEAR.. we called it the SHARE BEAR
Whoever had the sharing bear got a turn to talk!
It went really well and all the kids seemed excited to hold
even if they couldn't think of something to share.. They could
hold it for a second and then pass it along!

Today I asked. a question...

How can we be "Called to Care" at home(not
just at school)..

Lots said help a younger brother/sister
some said help mom
hold the door open

Outside Time

Lots of helper with the camp fire today

A few friends discovered this bug
at school today

Colbie and Monroe really enjoyed
observing the  bug

Dominic was using the broom to make
a track for the wheel
barrow!

Pray Time
Ryan was the prayer leader and choose
the ABC prayer

Dominic was snack manager
He does a great job with this ....
he knows everyones name!

Over the last few days we prepped
our canvas for our painting.
The children have enjoyed learning
all about lines... ....

Artwork from Piet Mondrian
this art has been displayed in our room for about a week...
just giving the children a chance to look and observe it...
then the last 2 days we prepped our canvas with black lines...
talking with the children has they prepped
like do you want a vertical line or horizontal
line....etc.....

Today we started painting....
We talked about how Mondrian just used
red, blue, yellow, black and white.....
and also gray...
I asked the children to guess which 2 colors they
could mix together to make the gray...
mixing black and white to
make gray was great fun!!

Blocks

Taste Testing...

After the children decided which
apple they liked better
they got to choose that color apple
to write their name on it..

we will then add our apples to a graph
and compare which color apple our class
likes the best

lots of building happened in blocks today

Carly started her art work

Trente spent most of center time
writing/drawing cards for his friends
and then delivering them to each person..
so sweet!
