Jesus Time
We learned the story of Moses' Birth

Jochebed, Moses' mom was so happy to have a baby boy!
But also sad because she was a slave and the
king of Egypt had a law.
He did not want the Israelite slaves to have
any boy babies. So King Pharaoh ordered all
baby boys be killed.
Jochebed was very sad about this law and
wanted to protect her baby.

She had a plan.  She took a basket and
made sure it would float. She put Moses
in the basket and hid it behind some tall grass in the river.
She then told told Miriam, Moses' sister, to
watch Moses carefully.  Something amazing happened!
The princess saw the baby and decided she wanted to keep
him. Miriam went up to the princess and said
I know someone who can help care for the baby.
It was Jochebed!!  Moses's mom got to care for him
until he was old enough to live in the castle!

So even when things seem scary ... God is always
with us!!!

STEM ACTIVITY
STEM is beneficial for many reasons:
Get the children excited to learn
Breeds curiosity
allows kids to fail..that it is part of learning
fosters creativit
y

Today I read the children a book about
apple trees. We talked about the parts....
stem. branches, leaves, and
the apple
I then divided them into partners

The goal: Make an apple tree
with a toilet paper roll (with pre cut slits),
craft sticks, pipe cleaner and pom-poms

It was so fun to watch the children create!
Many were using trail and error with getting
the apples to stay on their tree.
One child got very creative and wrapped
the pipe cleaner around the pom-pom.
I overheard lots of conversation...great teamwork
and learning from each other.
