Morning Work

A favorite Activity

hanging Ornaments

Letter Concentration

Play doh

Colton was our invocation leader

It's fun to make new friends
Samuel and Roselee

We watched a short video about
Reformation.....

I asked the children before the video
if they know the name of the man who is
responsible for the forming
of the Lutheran Church....

One child eagerly said he/she
knew....
Mr Debrick...
great answer...he is responsible
for running our school, but this man lived a
LONG time ago.......

Martin Luther...... This is where
we got the name Lutheran

A little dancing before chapel

Chapel in church
is always a special treat

We sang GO... such a great song to get
 our chapel going

Gary, the puppet that helped
with chapel today

Roselee was our offering helper today

Reading books while waiting for everyone
to go potty and wash hands

After snack I showed the children a concentration
they could play with a friend

It is of all the letters with
LINES

This "big" chair was sitting off to the side of
the block area today
( I have big chairs out for the
parents to use during conferences)

Dominic and Sabrina thought it was FUN
to sit in it

Writing letters to give to friends

Creating his LOOSE PARTS
story...
Brody spent over 30 mins creating

This is the amazing LOOSE PARTS tray

working on her birthday art

The children had so much fun with their
Loose Parts creations and
stories this week......

We only had a few more to complete on Weds

Evie's creation that she made
for her sister

The children are enjoying real paint
(VS the watercolors...which
they like too)

OOPS...sorry it posted upside down

These kiddos were playing puppy and so I
got out my daughters favorite
puppy when she was this age

There are accessories with the puppies..
brush, bottle, dog bone...

Morning work time
we have tri-colored markers that
are super fun to experiment with

Loving the play doh
with a variety of goodies...
googly-eyes
beads
little sticks
rolling pins
muffin liners

Lots of new activities out....
counting games and puzzles

decorating our Thankful tree

Colbie excited to share her
cupcake she made(from play doh)

working hard at hanging ornaments on the
thankful tree

Yesterday was Ryan's bday

We recognized it by letting her
choose a story and singing
her Happy Birthday!

Then we came to the carpet
for a science experiment

Sink or Float..
Heavy rock...sinks

gourd..... float

Lego........

Float

Next I asked the kids to think about what we already know

lego and gourd float
rock sinks
what will the pumpkin do?

SINK or FLOAT

Ryan checking out the pumpkin
then making her prediction

Each child that wasn't here yesterday
got to come feel the pumpkin and make
a prediction

All predictions in...
on same chart as yesterdays kiddos...

The pumpkin floated

SUPER EXCITED!

Teegan couldn't believe it floated

Next we started talking about WHY
the pumpkin floated and someone asked
if there wasn't a lot of air in the pumpkin
would it still float??
So we opened it and filled it with
water........

Made guesses about whether it would float or not

Most of us thought it would sink

But it FLOATED....

SO I googled why ??????

Basically for the grown-ups....
the pumpkin is less dense than the water,
so then the water is able to push the pumpkin up
so that it floats....

I learned something new today 😄

We bundled up and spent some
time on the boat playground

Story Time

Jace was the librarian today

Travis the Prayer Leader

Hank the snack manager

Thank you Ryan for bringing
GRAPES

So much fun with real paints!!!
We have the pumpkin sitting on the shelf
near the art easel... as our inspiration
to paint a pumpkin.....

So creative!!

We got the birthday bag out for
Ryan's birthday

Lots to explore in the sensory table

So sweet watching them play
Birthday Party

Sorry for not taking a picture today of the
loose parts play invitation tray
(invitation to play... really is just that..inviting the children to
play, explore, investigate as independently as possible)

But this tray is huge a filled with everything you can imagine
So much fun for the kids to explore and create with
I gave each child a frame and then allowed
them to explore and create a picture in their frame and
then tell me a story!!

They are loving this and coming up with amazing stories.

Below is a picture of the children who had a turn today

I will add their stories to each picture and create a book
