helper

Read Read Read
the bible song

We read the story of
Lazarus

I told the children that each of these
stories are TRUE stories
even though the sound pretty amazing
and maybe even sometimes hard to believe
they are TRUE

Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead
and then many people believe
He is the Son of God after that

OUTSIDE

STORY TIME

NON FICTION

Bria was
weather helper

WINDY

Oliver was prayer
leader (his favorite job!)

Carson was snack manager

SNACK

SO MANY S words!!!!

All the children are guessing we will need to start
a new S chart to write ALL the S words
they keep thinking of

A little experiment

an empty clear plastic container
an arctic animal (polar bear)
water

I asked the children what will
happen if I put the polar bear
in the container and then fill it with
water and then stick it in the freezer

So many thoughts and ideas.........
so excited to share their ideas

It took several pitchers of water to
completely cover the polar bear

So friends also wondered if the bear was
completely covered would he sink:
stay at the bottom  or float....
so we made predictions about that too

we talked about why
this polar bear sank..
he is solid plastic(no air inside)
the polar bear is more dense than the water
so he sinks

we also wanted to find
things that would float

glitter did at least for the most part

foam leaves float...someone said...like a surf board

everyone got to choose
their own sequins and add it
to the water.....

most floated but when we touched
them, they would sink....

I think they children could have done this ALL
morning
BUT I also knew they would be disappointed
if they didn't get any center time
It was already 10:30 and I think we started at 10....
they REALLY LOVED this!!!

I told them we were going to put it in the freezer
and check on it tomorrow
BUT I warned that this container is VERY full and it may
not be frozen solid by tomorrow
IF that is the case we will check it out on Thursday

For those kiddos not here...we will video our results

PLUS, I thought I would created a new container SO everyone gets
a chance to help break/melt the ice

CENTER TIME

Marble Race

Adding google eyes to
her snake

Bria and Addie spent almost the entire
center time in the ZOO

Hazel finding a place to
hang her snake

getting ready to make flowers to
add to our butterfly garden

lots of creating and
problem solving with the marble race

LOTS of tissue paper

Nora said she is making beds for
the animals ... tissue paper is the blanket

These boys had a hard time decided between
balls & ramps
and marble race
and many times went back
and forth

Oliver really enjoys reading
and asked me to read a few stories with him

Hazel hanging her flower
she created to our Butterfly Garden
