Palms out to remind us of
the day Jesus rode into Jerusalem

It was so sweet...several children said
I want to go to church on Palm Sunday
πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ

NEW THINGS:

Lincoln was our
teacher assistant

The children are SO
excited when they
recognize the environmental print!!

ESTIMATION JAR

We did a practice
estimation jar today

I sent 2 letters home today
for  Tuesday and Wednesday

everyone will get a turn!!

I put some
colored popsicle sticks in the jar
showed it to everyone
and then asked them to estimate
or
guess(not count) how many sticks they think
are in the jar....

we talked about looking at the size of the item
in the jar... sticks don't take up much room
SO there may be more sticks than you think
in the jar...

Can guess
1-15
I have this chart to help the
children think of a number
plus visualize how many
it actually is as we count
the items....

The children's
guesses/estimates......

Charleigh was closest with a guess of 8

MAT MAN

Mat man is part of the
Hand Writing Without Tears
curriculum. It reinforces body
awareness!
Throughout the year we have been learning
about curves and lines
and now we are learning the curves and lines can be used
for other things too!
For example:
2 Big curves make a circle....which makes mat mans head

Then we built mat man together as a class

Here is the music
I wish I had recorded our class doing it
but I will tomorrow

https://youtu.be/zcGs7__1XFs

Everyone had pieces and when
the song sang their
body part they
came over and added it

During Center time
I asked each child to draw a self portrait
With Mat Man fresh in their
heads, I wanted to see if
they added more body parts.......

CENTER TIME

A few friends needed to work
on their designs for the
t-shirt costumes....

Playing in the zoo

magnetic rods and
magnetic marbles

Charleigh and
Cecilia played together the whole
center time

We used mirrors
to get a close look at ourselves
before drawing our
self portrait

I LOVE watching the children
look in the mirror to draw themselves!!!

Then we also wrote our names

We also talked to the children
about when you go to the zoo
there are maps to tell you where
the animals are located

so we showed an example and
then had the children
draw a map of our class zoo

marble race

Looking through the mirror to
check out his legs

Winston working on his map

Cecilia and Charleigh

WOW..... tunnels for the balls to go through
on the track

Hazel and Roman worked together
in the writing center

Mason was exercise leader

Tree Pose

Prayer Requests

One day last week, Nora asked if
we could have a good bye rhyme
using unicorn........

so over the weekend I made a
good bye rhyme card with a
unicorn.....
and it is also the one Carson chose
today.....

Honk your horn, unicorn
