Our Jesus Time Story
was about a man
named Zacchaeus

Mrs Koenen and
I gave everyone 5 gold coins

a LONG time ago,
they used to have tax collectors that
came to your house and collected the taxes.
The tax collectors often were dishonest.
Zacchaeus was very dishonest
and stole from the people.

Mrs Koenen and I pretended to be the
tax collectors.... taking 1-2
gold coins from some OR 4-5
coins from others..

I asked the kids if this was FAIR and
how it made them feel???

They ALL agreed this was not fair and it
made them feel
mad/sad/frustrated

I told this is
why the people a long time ago didn't like
 Zacchaeus very much...
He made them very angry/sad/frustrated

I read the story from the bible

We heard that even though Zacchaeus
did bad things Jesus still LOVED him
and wanted to go to his house.

God wants us to know
He LOVES us no matter what even
when we do
things we shouldn't!
God forgave Zacchaeus and
HE forgives us too!!

Then we had just enough time
to go around the circle and say our prayers......

Luke chose
After a while, Crocodile!
