Morning Work
Step 2 of our
Collaborative Art Project
Sort misc. items
into ALL the colors of the rainbow
For those who were not here yesterday
Step 1 was
painting craft sticks
ALL the colors of the rainbow
Collaborative Art projects are
beneficial for many reasons but one main one
is building a sense of community
we are all ONE class and work together
to create something
Claire playing with the
magnetic lines and
marbles
LOTS of great
sorting
Play Doh
Roman checking out
the magnets
Nora coloring
And then working with
legos
Winston trying
the snap plastic
lines
Then on to magnets
Lincoln was our
Attendance Helper today
3 friends NOT at school today
13 friends AT school
Hazel was our
invocation leader
We sang our song about the bible
(tune of Row, Row, Row your boat)
READ READ READ
THE BIBLE
GOD WANTS US TO KNOW
THAT IT IS A SPECIAL BOOK
AND HE LOVES US SO!
Then I asked the children
questions about the bible story we have been
learning about this week.
They did an AMAZING
job retelling the story of NOAH!!!
I then asked the children if they remember why
God flooded the entire earth
And they did!!
They said because all the people were being
bad and not listening to God
Only Noah(and his family) was listening.
Everyone also remembered
about the rainbow
God always keeps His promises!!
We then talked about how God wants us
to be like Noah
and listen to HIM and
be kind to others.
I told them at school we are like a family
who helps each other and
is kind to one another
we are a
School/Class Family
I then said we need to name our
class family....
Lots of ideas
Tomorrow friends will
also have a chance to
give ideas and then we will VOTE
I also showed them the kindness chart
and talked about ways we
can be kind to one another
and then when we are kind we can put our
name on the kindness chart
And as part of a family/
"class family"
each morning we will pledge
to be kind by saying
I WILL BE KIND TODAY!
We will take a special cross
rock and put it into
a box and say
I WILL BE KIND TODAY
I got a picture of each
child doing it today
OUTSIDE
With her broken arm, Nora
and her mom go for a walk during
outside time
Today they found
a bird's egg shell
The children are super interested
in it!!
when we were on the carpet
near backpack Roman
remembered his offering
for chapel tomorrow!
Today's story
Hmm, Cows are real and rain is real
but after reading a few pages the
class decided the story
is FICTION
Since the children are so interested in
the bird's egg shell
Mrs Koenen
was googling
bird'segg shells
From this picture
The Cardinal
eggs look the closest...
We will continue to do
some
investigating to see if
we have identified it correctly
Roman was our
weather helper
A RAINBOW
kind of day
Claire was our
prayer leader......
ABC prayer
Bria was
snack manager
SNACK
Today I read this Book
Full of Letter E
words!!!
which helped the
children name some
E words
Keep brainstorming at home
and we will see if your child remembers to
share tomorrow at school
Mrs Koenen found
Ben and Luke's chapel
offering
So we had them put it in the offering
bucket
CENTER TIME
Lots of friends were
interested in
playing with
Noah's Ark
Winston has been wanting to
play with the work bench
since morning work time
we found a bug
so we picked it up and
let it go outside
Another step to the collaborative
Art project
cutting small piece of
paper and sorting them
making sure we have
all the colors of the
rainbow
A few letter assessments
today...
I will post
on SeeSaw soon!
Carson and Mason
were making a REALLY
LONG line of magnetic
lines
Carson proud
of his long line!
Nora asked me to take
a picture of
her
Then another picture of her
with her baby and carrot
Mason counting
Carson's LONG line!!!!
It was over 90
(magnetic)lines long
Mason volunteered to be our
superintendent
Charleigh was our
yoga instructor
DOWNWARD DOG
Mason was our
exercise leader
SQUATS
I found a video on
YOUTUBE of a Cardinal
Baby hatching from its shell
After watching the video we are not
super sure
if our shell it is a cardinal or not!!!
https://youtu.be/oGgwfMu0q6M
Also it is a LIVE video and as soon as
the baby is nearly done hatching the
mama bird comes over and we see
her help get rest of shell off the baby
and then she eats the shell!!
Interesting fact none of us
were prepared for, your children may talk about it.
I looked it up after school and the mama eats
the shell to regain nutrients after
laying eggs!
The children were fascinated
watching the video
