school
CENTER TIME
Winston's favorite place to
start
TRAINS
WE also tried
SMALL GROUPS today
I divided the children into
2 groups
Mrs Koenen
took one group
Her group did a 2nd steps
lesson
FOCUSING ATTENTION
They sang the song
EYES.... are watching
EARS... are listening
VOICES .... quiet
BODIES.... are calm
They also learned about
ATTENT-A-SCOPES
using your hands to focus like
telescopes on the person who is talking
My group
did a
SUMMER TREE OBSERVATION
We looked at a picture of a summer
tree on our smart board.
I talked to the children about
how the trees look different depending on the season.
Now our trees our
SUMMER TREES
SUMMER TREES
have green leaves
We also talked about the different parts
ROOTS
TRUNK
BRANCHES
TRUNK
BRANCHES
LEAVES
we then got to go outside to see a
SUMMER TREE up close
The tree we observed
Everyone had clipboards and
I asked them to chose 2 colors
that they thought they would need to draw a summer tree
(based upon the picture we looked at)
getting close to the tree
and making sure they could FEEL
it as well
BONUS:
the roots are showing and we got to take a look
at those too
Mrs Koenen's group

ATTENT-A-SCOPE

We then had a little more time
for CENTERS

JUMPING JACKS
PRAYER REQUESTS
We had such a FUN and BUSY day
we cleaned up late! THEN we had so many
wonderful prayer requests that we ran out of time to go
around the circle to say
THANK YOU JESUS for...
So I explain to the children they can pray even in their heads
without saying words! God is so amazing HE can hear us
no matter what!!
So we practiced this today
we all
folded our hands
bowed our heads
closed our eyes
and sat in silence
saying our thank you prayers in our head
NICE JOB!
Charleigh chose
SEE you later, Alligator
for our GOOD BYE Rhyme!
