16 friends AT school

Happy Day when everyone
is at school!

Second Steps

Today we practiced
again how are bodies
shoud be when we are ready to listen

Eyes... are watching
Ears.... are Listening
Voices...quiet
Bodies.... calm

Then we talked about focusing
our attention on the
person listening

We made attent-a scopes with
our hands
We can use an
ATTENT-A-SCOPE
to focus on just the person talking

Some friends made one on
Monday with toilet
paper rolls
others can make one later today

Then we ROLED PLAYED

We talked about what to do
when you want to play
with a friend

When you see a friend playing
with something you want to
play with too

You can walk over to them and ask
CAN I PLAY TOO!

Colton and Hazel
role played this for us

Claire and Winston also role played

this for us

OUTSIDE

Roman and Ben like to
race

CHAPEL

Mrs Helmkamp
led chapel today

We learned about the story of Noah

Noah trusted and believed in
GOD

God put a rainbow in the sky
to remind us
that he always
keeps HIS promises

Roman was our
offering helper

Winston was very excited to see her

sister at chapel

STORY TIME

The children love telling me
now if the story will be
FICTION
or NON FICTION

Teaching children to look at the cover as well as the
pictures for clues are great
skills to reinforce and will help
children when they begin reading

Fiction was the guess because dinosaurs
don't go to
school!!

GREAT JOB!!

A few of my friends used
their ATTENT-A-SCOPES
to focus on the
story!

Mason was our librarian

Bria was weather helper

Rainbow kind of day

Claire...
Prayer leader

Colton was
snack manager

Some of you may noticed that your child picks the
same job over and over

This is very typical for
preschoolers..
they love routine and consistency
and what is familiar

But it is also a good idea
to encourage trying new things

to get out of your comfort zone a little, especially
when we are in a familiar safe environment
LIKE SCHOOL!!

I talked to the children about trying
NEW jobs tomorrow!!
I will continue to encourage and
support them when trying something new

SNACK
with 16 friends
we need to use
3 tables

Teacher assistant
Cecilia

we watched a few minutes of a

sesame street podcast to help

give us ideas of

more Letter F words

Look at all those
F words

CENTER TIME

Roman, Colton and Claire

began building a "house"

Lots of friends
playing in dramatic play

The first house is finished......
pretty sturdy and I loved the team work
BUT
they quickly realized
it was too small.....

So they took it apart and
started over......
and a few more friends joined
in

Charleigh working in
the writing center

Lots of cooperative play,
problem solving, learning
about cause and affect.....

made a doorway to crawl in.....

a much bigger
"house"

so much thinking going
on here!!!

LOVE IT!!

many are ready to build again tomorrow

Addie was
our superintendent

Nora was our
YOGA instructor

TREE POSE

Charleigh was our

Exercise Leader

SQUATS

After about 2 squats
One little friends said,
My Legs hurt
๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
Oh yes, squats will do that
to you

PRAYER REQUESTS

Today we also talked about
telling "true" or "pretend"
prayers/stories...
This is also another typical thing preschoolers
do and some just want to tell me something
for prayer. I will still write it down and acknowledge
what they say, but also you may  want to encourage at home
true and pretend for me.
Also you may have noticed our  PRAYER REQUESTS
sometimes seem like stories. This is typical for young children.
We are learning that prayer requests
are a time to ask Jesus for help or to say thank you
AGAIN... preschools are just learning about prayer
and I truly love to hear the children participate, no matter if they
are just telling me a story or have a prayer.
This will be something you can watch as your child gets older and has
more practice with prayer.....
their prayers will develop!

This is one reason why prayer
requests is one of my favorite
parts of our day!!

Lincoln chose
See you soon, Raccoon!
