Today was the first day we have had a birthday...

Crazy that no one has had a birthday yet this year during
the school year!!!

One way to celebrate birthdays is by inviting a special
friend to come to read to our class!!

I invited my friend to read today

It was SO fun and I think the kids really enjoyed it too!

We love playing on the boat playground

Carly

Colbie

Today we had balls to play
with... the kids loved
playing basketball

Loving the bikes

Chapel in the commons

Mr Nelson from
Chapel of the Cross
led Chapel today

Carly was the offering helper

Sabrina was the invocation leader
on chapel days we don't usually also do
Jesus Time SO we had Sabrina
led us in an invocation before
snack prayer

The children are doing such a great
job showing respect to Jesus
when we pray.

Folding their hands
bowing their heads
closing their eyes

Carly was snack manager
She did a great job of calling friends
who are sitting quietly

Lines... learning about lines

We can use lines to make so many
different things....

Many different types of lines

Many letters are made from only lines too...

We worked on making the T

We can also make  a Cross with lines

Another letter that we can make
from one
Big line
and
one little line

The Letter L

New items for the kids to play with

Many may have never seen items like this before

But everyone was interested...

A few more friends got to
go one their line hunt

o many friends wanted to use the dramatic
play area with our new items..

SO
we had a sign up sheet

This is such a great way to practice writing our name
learn to wait and take turns
problem solve and choice making
(if dramatic play is full...then the child has to
decided what to do... sign his/her name on the sign
up sheet and then choose another center while he/she waits
for his/her turn)

this is whaat the Line Hunt sheet looks like....

The kids made tally marks to count how
many of each shape they saw

@ more friends on their way to go on a line hunt

Samuel was very excited to be
the exercise leader

push-ups

Samuel choose 5 push-ups
another friend kept asking for 10
though.. too funny
Samuel thought 5 was enough

CLEAN UP TIME:

Look at how great friends
are cleaning.....

Blocks was a big undertaking
so Monroe had friends who came to help

WOW!!  Very nice.. we have been talking about
Called to Care and I told the kids this
is another way we can be Called To Care
helping each other clean up!!!

Team work definitely makes it go faster
