Outside Time

The tricycles were a BIG favorite
today!  What a great way to work our large
muscles!

Brody showing us how strong he is

Chapel today

Pastor Reitz gave chapel

Samuel was offering helper today

Story Time

Travis was our prayer leader

Monroe did an excellent job of showing
us how we should pray

hands folded, head bowed, eyes closed

Sabrina was snack manager

we had a fire drill during snacks

Today our principals wanted to see how
we did with getting out of the building.
The sound and flashing lights did go off, which
can be a little scary.  We talked about why it
is important for there to be lights and loud
noise.  It is important to be loud
so everyone can hear it...even if we were singing
and dancing we need to be able to hear the sound.
And the lights flashing are so people who can't hear
know the fire alarm is going off.

The class did and excellent job
of evacuating the building!

Today we watched
Clark the Shark
on storyline online

check them out sometime

A great resource

Today's story was about being considerate of
others but also Clark does some self talking
to help him remember the rules.
We talked about this today during
Second Steps.
For example, if the teacher says,
"Put the books away and line up!"
The child putting the books away can quietly
his or her self say, "put the books away
and line up"...even make it like a song.

We talked a little more about
Called to Care

I tried to take a picture of the list
we are creating.
When it is all complete....
I will hang it in the room.

I also want to capture pictures
of the kids being kind to each other.

Several times in the last 2 days since we started
talking about this... several kids have done
kind things for each other.. and will say
I'm being Called to Care.

One thing in particular
we had one friend who was upset today at drop off
and several children were very concerned.
But one friend went over, bent down and talked
to her softly..even tried rubbered her back
for a few seconds...very sweet!

These few friends got to do their tree
investigations today.
I showed them pictures of how trees look in
the summer. Talked about the colors
we see and what parts there are
on the tree. Trunk, branches and leaves.

The children then got told they go to be
investigators.
They were each given clipboards, paper
and their choice of 3 crayons.( I asked them
to look at picture of the tree closely and then
go choose 3 crayons)
