Morning work

So happy to se everyone today!!!!

Charlie discovered 2 triangles put together

A SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

plastic bowl, treasures and water....... and the freezing temps outside

I asked the children what will happen to the water

when placed outside... everyone made predictions

then we checked it every 30 mins....

Teagan led our invocation

We talked about Ash Weds being yesterday

We also talked about how

Ash Weds is the beginning of a season

called LENT

Then we talked about how LENT is a time we focus on what Jesus

did to save each and every one of us.... during LENT

we do NOT say the word ALLELUIA !!!

We each made a ALLELUIA coloring page

and then we "put" all the ALLELUIA's in one box

to be put away until Easter!!!  Easter morning is such a happy day

and we will bring the ALLELUIA's back out when we can rejoice in

the resurrection of Jesus!

Each child got to place their own Alleluia in the box

STORY TIME

Right as I started the story... our 1st 30 mins timer went off

We brought our bowl of water inside to check for changes

everyone was super curious and wanted to touch

the water was VERY cold but no change yet......

Charlie was weather helper

Tristan was our teacher assistant

I love watching the children interact

with each other.... raising their hands to give answers and

calling on each other when they raise their hands

Another 30 mins has past.....  you can see a thin layer of ice forming

CENTER TIME

I brought blankets in so we could build

a fort.....

Another 30 mins... a little more ice

The children enjoyed the fort building

Plus they also enjoyed playing in this submarine 

Our last 30 min shift ( as it was also time to go home)

a much thicker layer of ice

the children all could touch without breaking through

I told the class

we will leave the bowl outside ALL night 

and then see what happens overnight

and then tomorrow we can also

figure out how to get our

treasures back out of the ice??

I can't wait to hear what the kiddos think
