Mrs Larimore wasn't here today(she is fine just couldn't be here)
and our SUB is also named Melissa...so I told a few kiddos that
Brody wanted to write Melissa..... I love when inventive spelling starts to happen
Jesus Time:
We did not have an invocation leader today
so I asked the children if anyone wanted to volunteer
Quite a few wanted too, so we tried
something new
The ones who wanted to stood up
and led us and then the rest of us
said the responses
It worked pretty good!

For our Jesus Time story we used these emotion cards..... the story
had Happy, Sad, Surprised and even a part where someone was very mean
As I retold the story of Moses, we talked about how all the stories
in the bible are true(non fiction) A couple of friends felt pretty sad that the King of Egypt made a law that all baby boys had to die. That is super sad. But the really good news is that God is always with us and he was with Moses then too. His parents came up with a plan
and it worked. Moses was saved!!!
Wyatt was our yoga instructor
He chose tree pose
For second steps, who reviewed so faces and talked about what emotion
each face showed. It is so important to talk about feelings and why we may feel a certain why. It helps children learn empathy!
Earlier in the week, I told the class about something that I had received that made
me feel surprised!!!
Hard to capture on still pictures, but when I hoped this box
butterflies flew out!!! It was so cool and made me feel very surprised.
The butterflies are made from paper and have a rubber band down the middle
When you twist the rubber band really tight and then let it go
the wings flap and the butterfly with fly. It is a little bit of a challenge to
get it back into the box proper, but they children LOVED this!!!
As soon as we stepped outside it started sprinkling, so we went
to our side yard and ran around for a few minutes
After a few minutes, we realized it wasn't going to rain so we went to the
playground!
Claire was very interested in an acorn she found
Wyatt using his strong muscles
Charlie, our entomologist, studying our ants
Reporting his finding to the class
Ella was the weather helper today
Claire was our prayer leader
Brody was our snack manager
