Wednesday's Blog

What a busy day!!! We practiced our Christmas song with the other classes, had chapel in the sanctuary, Mrs. Oswald made a surprise visit, and we had lost of fun at centers!

Playing in the Commons

It was too cold to go outside so we played in the Commons for a few minutes.

Ellis carried our classroom cross to chapel.

Chapel

Mrs. Helmkamp led chapel in the church today. We have been talking about the colors of Advent (blue and purple) and lighting our Advent wreath in our classroom. The children immediately noticed the blue on the altar in the sanctuary and the giant Advent wreath that Mrs. Helmkamp lit while we sang "Light One Candle."

"Light one candle for Hope. One bright candle for Hope. He brings Hope to every heart he comes, he comes!"

Mrs. Helmkamp talked about Chrismon ornaments and how they are always gold and white. She showed us angel Chrismon ornaments that soon will be adorning the trees in the church. The ornaments are white to remind us of Jesus who is pure and perfect and gold which reminds us of a king and glory.

Ellis took up our offering.

Everyone was excited to see Levi's baby brother Wyatt, after chapel. His mom was at church for Moms in Prayer.

Center Fun

Center Time was busy!

Christmas House

The dramatic play area with our Christmas house was a popular place to work. Some friends wrapped presents while others made hot chocolate with pretend marshmallows. Others decorated a Christmas tree and had a birthday party for Baby Jesus!

A K-Cup coffee maker was added today!

Making Angels

Some friends chose to make angels with glittery wings made out of their traced hands. The angels look great decorating our classroom!

Winter Village Sensory Table

The sensory table is filled with a winter village and pretend snow!

Making Christmas Ornaments for Our Tree

Other friends decorated fun shaped ornaments and strung beads to make candy canes to place on our classroom Christmas tree!

Marble Works

Whenever I get the Marble Works out there is always lotos of building and exploring!

Reading

We talked about the Angel on Assignment and how angels played an important part in telling Mary she was going to have a baby and coming to Joseph in a dream and appearing to the shepherds in the field. Ask your child where our classroom angel appeared today!

Another fun read aloud I shared with the class.
