Tuesday's Blog

 Angel, Angel, Where are You?

The children get excited looking for our angel everyday, as she moves to a new location in our classroom. They found her in our classroom tree today!

Angel Chrismons
We made angel chrismons to decorate the tree outside our classroom. Chrismons are always made of white and gold to remind us of Jesus... white because Jesus is pure and has no sin, and gold because He is our Heavenly King! We will be adding a new Chrismon ornament each week.

Outside Fun!

The three friends were making a fire and wanted me to check it out!

Putting wood on the fire.

Jesus Time

Today we talked about how Advent is a time of preparing and waiting. Ask your child to share some things we do to get ready for Jesus's birth? (wrap presents, decorate, devotionals, Advent candles, sing at church). Mr. Lion visited and shared that the best gift we receive is Jesus!

Centers

Christmas House

The dramatic play area was busy today! There were several birthday parties and some baking gong on.

Gingerbread Cookies

We baked up gingerbread cookies with gingerbread scented play doh and cookie cutters. The children decorated their cookies with beads and buttons.

Gingerbread Ornaments

The children really enjoyed decorating gingerbread ornaments for our classroom Christmas tree. We used materials from our art center and they turned out fun and fabulous!

Candy Construction

I'm so happy the children are enjoying the candy construction set I bought the class. It is so much fun to be creative and build.

Making Christmas Cards

The most popular center of the day! Many children visited the writing center and made Christmas cards for their family and friends. We also made birthday cards for Jesus! They enjoyed using the stamps and stamp pads, cutouts and stickers. It is a great way to practice writing our names and learn how to write friends' names too!

Reading

We read a different version of The Gingerbread Man and compared it the version we read yesterday. In both versions the gingerbread man ran away and from a little old woman and a little old man and both had a fox that ate him at the end. This version had different characters like a boy, farmers, a wolf and a bear and the fox tricked him by asking the gingerbread man to come closer. Yesterday's book had all animal characters and the fox tricked the gingerbread man by having him get on his tail, then back and then head, as he helped him across the river. What will we read tomorrow???

I love seeing friends choose to read together during centers, especially on busy days like today!
