Downward Dog
Today was definitely a BOOT DAY!!!
With all the rain, I knew our playground
would be wet......
We have extra boots and most of the children
who didn't already have some were able to find
boots that fit......
Some didn't like the way
the boots fit and chose not to
wear any
It was fine if they
didn't have boots or chose not to wear
a pair of ours---, we just asked then to stay
out of the mud on the sidewalk areas
THE MUD KITCHEN!!!
Wow! So many of the children LOVED
the mud kitchen today and we had
plenty of mud to "cook"
with today!!!
The children have been digging in the mud
kitchen since the beginning of school, which created
a hole, which allowed
the rain water to collect
which the children LOVED!!!!
Scooping, dumping, pouring
getting muddy----
LOTS of FUN!!!
Some kiddos absolutely LOVE
getting muddy and had a BLAST
Some friends needed to change when we came in,
so if your child
came home with a different outfit
today it just meant they had
a lot of fun on the play ground today.....
Please throw in a fresh change of clothes...
guessing it wills still be muddy tomorrow
MUDDY FUN!!!
As we were lining up
the fire department came and
pulled the fire alarms(completly unexpected)....
so we went out on the back fields
The children did great!!
Part of preschool is learning independence...
LOTS of learning happened when
we came back in.....
Changing out of the boots, back into
our tennis shoes....
Changing our muddy clothes into fresh
clothing and then putting our dirty clothes in our back packs
and then the other children were
reading books while the muddy
children changed........
Sound CRAZY with 15 preschoolers???
It really was NOT--- It went amazingly smooth
and a huge part of this is because of you PARENTS!!!
So many children knew what to do and how to
change their clothing. Mrs Koenen and I were there
"helping" mostly helping clean mud off friends--- but
so many independent changers!!!
WAY TO GO!!!
