Today's story...
Jesus gathers HIS disciples
Jesus told the disciples
I will make you fisher of men
So we threw out the fishing net
and gathered LOTS of fish
Then we talked about how we
each can be Jesus' Disciples
Jesus wants us to follow Him and
spread the word of God!
Yesterday I showed the children this bible
The one with the Jesus Sticker on it...
I got this book specifically for the children to use
They love to use my bible and the one I read from
daily is a keepsake with my children's name on it
So I found a used one on Amazon and will not be worried if
it gets a lot of "love"!!
Today's helpers....
OUTSIDE
WINDY and CHILLY
And a little muddy!!
The children LOVE to pretend with the
mud and cooking pot and pans...
A few friends made me
Chocolate pudding
and someone else brought
me Mud Soup....

Kennedy was our teacher assistant
Q words
Ideas for names
for our Valentines Party
tomorrow we start voting......
Then we talked about what kind of food
we need for our party......it started as mostly "junk" food
and then I suggested adding a few healthy
items and then a few children added things like apples and
vegetables
SMALL GROUP WORK
Today we divided into 3
groups...
one group got to play with trains or legos
One group worked
with me and I introduced
NAME JOURNALS
and the 3rd group
went with Mrs Koenen
to decorate a gingerbread man
Practicing our names on the
first page of the journal
everyone's names are
printed on the front
and until the middle of their journals
then near the end I will see
who can write their names
from memory...
Also the journal model
writing their names smaller
especially for those going to
Kindergarten so they
aren't taking the whole paper to
write their name
Some are ready for that and some
aren't -- either is OK
JUST getting each child
more familiar with thinking
about the size of their letters.....
Plus modeling how to correctly form
their letters
LIKE always start at the TOP
I also use words the children
are familiar with like
BIG LINE
LITTE LINE
BIG/LITTLE CURVE
when helping them with
proper formation
For example
I might say start at the top and make a big line down
then leap frog to the top and make a diagonal line
down and then big line back up.......
Foster was excited to show me his
big tower he built
after each groups got a turn
at each station we started.....
