We used loose parts to form

the letters then we could write the letter

to form lines then to

So are excited to have a new friend!!

Morning Meeting

Abidaan is finding his

dot on the blue carpet.

Each child has a dot with

his/her name. Each day they come it

will be in a new location, so that they 

get an opportunity to sit

with new friends each day

Today was Lucas' turn to hold Zebra

Luke was our attendance helper

As he carried the boards

over to me he said

I have good news.....

EVERYONE came to school today!!

YES that is good news!!!!!

Arwen volunteered to be

our invocation leader

We talked about what church season it is right now...

Epiphany!!

We talked about why we celebrate Epiphany

It is when the WISEMAN came to

visit Jesus

Jesus was a little older when the WISEMEN

found him

They brought(strange) gifts

gold

frankincense

myrrh

I also taught the children a new

word (some heard it in chapel yesterday)

Magi, is another name for the WISEMEN

we also watch a short

video teaching us about

King Herod. and the WISEMEN

OUTSIDE

Very chilly but the children

didn't mind and enjoyed

finding frost on the slide and

 ice outside in other places

Frost on the tires

Charleigh, Arwen and Ella

were cooking

The bridge had some

frost on it which made it

a little slick.... which made it fun!!

Calvin was our

librarian

After snack we practiced letters.....

Hand Writing Without Tears

we had all the BIG

lines and LITTLE lines out and each

child got to

chose ONE letter made only from

lines to make!!

Rowen, Ella and Maisie also

started in Dramatic play

Whenever it is time for new play doh

I give the children a chance to experiment

blending and mixing the old

play doh together

They LOVE to do this!!!

A group of children began using the ramps....

Fun to add beads to the play doh

Next the ramps moved on top

of the shelves........

The the children took balls

and dropped then down the ramp....

There was A LOT of cooperative play

happening as well as cause and effect, problem 

solving, turn taking, etc......

I love when things like this just happen naturally in play

There was a bottle on the floor at the

end of the shelf that the 

children wanted the balls to

knock over......

after a few tries.......

Ben and Luke began experimenting with the wooden

letters....

Balancing and stacking the letters....

They moved they bottle up....

Then let the balls go....

the balls did knock the 

bottle over and the children

were so excited!!
