Cecilia was our
attendance helper

14 friends at school
2 friends NOT here

We often talked as a class about
why friends are not here---- it helps us
build classroom relationships and empathy

Today when I explained why
both friends were absent
Mack visiting her Kindergarten
and Charlotte home because her
 sister had a tummy Bug

It started LOTS and LOTS of conversations
1st what does tummy bug mean?
And second about
One time when I threw up stories.....

The children were all eager to share....

** full disclosure--I was planning on skipping
the WHY'S today thinking
this might happen BUT our attendance helper, Cecilia,
asked BUT you haven't told us WHY they are
not here yet
very thoughtful to ask about her friends

Kennedy got to hold
Zebra

Jesus Time

John the Baptist
Lincoln was invocation Leader

Zippy today
The children LOVE Zippy!!!

John baptized Jesus in the
Jordan River

When he did something
amazing happened....

And when Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.”

A dove appeared as the Holy Spirit
and they heard God's voice

We talked about how there are 3 parts
to God but only one God

God the Father(who created us)
God the Son(who died for us)
and God the Holy Spirit(who comforts us)

I reminded the children
we say this everyday when we do the invocation!!

Today's helpers...

SO fun outside.....

Checking on our ice skating rink....
which melted a little too much
yesterday

we are thinking of lots of c words

We talked about what we
needed to do to make ice on our
hockey rink.......

So many ideas...... lots thought of a
refrigerator ... and talked about getting ice and
putting it on our rink

When I asked what is ICE
made from
MOST said WATER
right away....

so I had the children help me
bring the tray outside ( I told them --where
it is cold like our freezers)and then we
filled a tray(that they decorated yesterday
as a hockey rink
..
I told the kids we would have to wait
until tomorrow to see what happens...
I will post on SeeSaw our
results so everyone can see....
