Wonderful Wednesday

We had a very busy day and it just flew by! I'm sure your kiddos came home tired, I know I did!

Happy 4th Birthday Luke!

Luke celebrated his birthday at school today and his grandma came and read us the book "Strictly No Elephants" by Lisa Mantchev and illustrated by Taeeun Yoo. It was an amazing story about pets, friendship, and including everyone.

We sang "Happy Birthday" and "God's Blessings" to Luke!

Morning Work

Luke colors his birthday crown during morning work.

These girls love to color. Today they used color pencils.

Meeting Mr. Lion
Mrs. Talley introduced the class to Mr. Lion during circle time. He will make appearances during "Jesus Time" and may also pop up during weekend worship at Zion when Mrs. Talley leads the Children's Message. Mr. Lion asked each child to introduce themselves.

J. J. introduces himself to Mr. Lion.

Leo laughs when Mr. Lion gives him a kiss!

Playground Fun
We had a lot of fun on our naturalist playground. What a blessing it is to have such a beautiful playground on our campus. The children were creative and enjoyed exploring God's big beautiful world!

Chapel in the Sanctuary
Pastor Rouland led chapel in church today. We learned how through faith in Jesus we can be strong and mighty and how we are never alone. Pastor Rouland also taught us how to be ninja quiet in the sanctuary. We celebrated July and August baptismal birthdays and learned the baptism song.

Happy Baptismal Birthday to Leo!

Levi took our class offering up to the altar.

Classroom Jobs
The boys and girls are quickly picking up classroom routines, which includes choosing a job each morning. Here are some of the jobs and the friends who did them today.

The jobs the children chose.

J.J. was Library Helper.

Leo was "Sit by the Teacher."

Harrison was the weather helper.

Luke was the snack manager.

Lyla was the teacher assistant.

Nora was the attendance helper.

Zoey was the line leader.

Center Time is Work Time
Center time is our work time. It's where the children learn about the world around them, learn how to share and get along with others, problem solve and be creative. Ask your child what work he or she did today.

Painting is a popular choice and Olivia and Harrison were artists today.

Luke paints his birthday lantern during center time.

Selah creates a collage at the art center.

Looking for Lines
On the way back from chapel we looked in God's big beautiful world for straight lines. The children got so excited when they discovered lines on the bricks on our school, on the sidewalk, in the trees, the telephone poles... so many places as straight lines are all around us! Be on the lookout for straight lines with your child this week.
