New Morning Work
to start the new year!!!

We have learned ALL the letters that
are only formed
with lines.....
so we had a few activities to
review LINES!!!

Line Magnets
and Lines
that fit together
like a puzzle

And then this week we will
learn about
Epiphany

So LOTS of
star activities

And PLAY DOH

the children love the play doh
rolling it out and putting
small rocks
in to decorate.......

great for developing little muscles
and it is also challenging
to take the
rocks back out of the play doh!

Charleigh chose play doh
first

Luke went to the
puzzle lines

Addie and Bria are
coloring

Lincoln chose to
sort the stars first

Ben chose to make a
picture with stars and other shapes

Claire come over to help
sort stars

SO much fun!!

Everyone came in and got
right to morning work!!

Roman checking out the
line magnets

Look at the cool picture
Ben made

Winston is using the
line puzzle pieces

Morning Meeting
and many friends remembered
to make their
Class Pledge

I will be Kind today!

Bria was our
attendance helper

1 friend NOT at school
15 friends AT school

SECOND STEPS

We took a close look at this picture

we talked about some things
that are the same about these girls

The children said:
both have helmets
both have same color hair
both on a red bike
both wearing a jacket

the children came up with
a really great list!!!

Then I asked them to use their
ATTENT-A-SCOPES

and look again....
now tell me what is different

IMMEDIATELY the children noticed the looks on the girls faces

ONE is HAPPY
ONE is SCARED

We talked about how people can feel differently
about the same activity...
one person may LOVE to go fast
and someone else may be SCARED to go fast!!!

I told the children to try to pay attention to their friends faces
when playing a game....
the game may be fun for you BUT not
your friend..
it is important to remember friends
may feel differently
about the same activity!!

OUTSIDE

Brrrr... today was SO much colder
than yesterday!!!

We spent less than 10 mins
 outside(many friends were cold)

Then we went to chapel

Pastor Rouland led chapel and had
his puppet Rupert
to help

we learned more about
Epiphany

Look at this beautiful star in
our church

Claire was our
offering helper

Hazel got a baptismal
remembrance button today!

Story Time

More about the
beautiful star the wisemen followed
to find Jesus

Luke was weather helper

Winston was prayer leader

Colton was
snack manager

After snack we did
MYSTERY BAG

we reviewed all the letters
made just from lines

each child got to pull
a letter card from
the mystery bag

told us what it was

and then match it to the
correct letter on the mat

CENTER TIME

I think the children really missed school
and their friends.....

I did
scissor assessments....

a more challenging assessment...
cutting out a star...
everyone got a turn today...

WOW!!! Look at this cool ramp

Roman and Ben having SO much
fun together

Luke, Mason and Carson

spent a lot of time with the

ramps

Hazel was our
superintendent

Claire our
Yoga Instructor

Ski Pose

Mason was exercise leader

I suggested he chose a different
exercise...

So he went for running in place

PRAYER REQUESTS
and Invocation Leader
(we did invocation at the end of the
day because we had chapel and
didn't do Jesus Time)

I talked to the class about a prayer requests
VS listing ALL the things we are thankful for......

This is a tough concept and I am so
proud of ANY prayer REQUESTS
the children have..... and I will always write whatever they say

But truly a great job today!!!!
