Read read the bible song
Then we reviewed about
last weeks story
Jesus gathers His disciples
This week we will hear
LOTS about Jesus
spreading God's word
and many of the amazing
things Jesus did during
His time on Earth
Todays bible story talked
about how people would gather around
Jesus as He spread God's word.
God wants us to know that HE is always
with us and we don't need to worry!
Such an important message to start learning
now because even as adults it is hard not to worry!
Then we practiced saying a prayer for the times
when we are worried about something.
2nd Steps
We spent time looking closely
at the below picture. Everyone had ideas of
what they thought was happening. LOTS of
great ideas and discussion .
Then I read a little story about
these 2 boys.
Adam and Miles were riding bikes together.
Adam wasn't paying attention to where
he was going and ran into Miles.
Miles' bike went off the path.
We talked about how we thought
each boys was feeling by
looking at the boys faces
(sad, angry, scared were some of the ideas)
We also talked about how we
sometimes might accidentally
run into someone, spill something,
bump into a friend, etc....
We then thought of what we should do
if we accidentally hurt or spill
something. We talked about saying
I am sorry I... bumped into you/ spilled my water/knocked you over
...etc...
BUT just saying sorry doesn't always make the other
person feel better. We practiced saying
HOW CAN I MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER?
ANd talkeda bout ways to make others feel better

Prayer
we just went around the circle today
( I didn't write anything down)
Just in case it comes up at home today...
One friend prayed for his Uncle Leo
who is sick and he told us he was going to die.
Which lead to LOTS of conversations from the other children
about grandparents or great grandparents who are old or who have died.
These are moments I can't plan for as a teacher
BUT are also really great teachable moments.
I love the natural conversations of
these little people... moments I wish the parents could see too!!!
I told the children that even though we are sad when
our loved ones die because we miss them and don't get to
see them now....
we can also rejoice in knowing
they are with Jesus in Heaven and
we will see them again someday!
