Happy Friday
Sorry the blog is very short today......
I left at 9am to attend a funeral for a dear,
sweet friend. She was my assistant when I taught
in Parkway and was quite a bit older than me BUT we hit it off
instantly. I always thought of her like a 2nd mom and she will be
greatly missed. I was so fortunate to be able to leave school today
and say good bye and spend time with her family.
Morning Work
Lots of Coloring
Ben likes the STARS..... fun to create
pictures
with the different stars and
other gems
Luke is sorting stars
Lincoln and Teddy were
enjoying the lines
that snap together
Addie was enjoy the lines
too
Teddy, Charleigh and I were
using the magnetic lines
and the plastic lines that snap
together....
Charleigh and I would
make a letter and
then Teddy would make it
with the plastic lines
Morning Meeting
Class Pledge
Teddy was attendance helper....
2 friends NOT at school
7 friends AT school
Since we had such a small group today
we needed LOTS of volunteers for jobs that
didn't get chosen
EVERYONE wanted to led invocation
So I let everyone lead invocation today....
Jesus Time
I read the story
of when the wisemen found Jesus
we talked about the
unusual gifts the wisemen
brought
Gold
Frankincense
Myrrh
what strange gifts for
a small child
I have a few essential oils to
give the children an idea
of what
Frankincense and Myrrh
smell like
we passed the "gifts"
around and everyone got a chance
to smell them.....
2nd Steps
Same and Different feelings
I talked with the children a little more
about how some people may really LOVE an activity
or a game BUT your friend may not be enjoying it
Like the 2 girls in this picture
One is enjoying it and the other
is NOT
I asked the children if they would LIKE it
if I brought a pet snake to school
Almost everyone said NO WAY)including me)!!!
2 said they LOVE snakes
Then I asked about a puppy....
Everyone said YES to a puppy!!!
But I talked to the children about noticing how
friends are feeling about things...try to make
sure your friend is having fun
too
Then we went to the commons
with the other 1/2 day
preschool class....
They had several kiddos out sick as well
SO we combined classes and I was able to leave.
3 teachers for only 12 children.
