Happy Thursday

Today was the 1st day for just a few of our friends

 but everyone else was here yesterday!!!

The children did a great job coming into the room 

and hanging up their back packs

After hanging up their back packs

They put their:

water bottles

folder and

snack into their cubby

Next they sign in and wash hands

Then go find an activity

for morning work

Morning Work

Morning work is the time of day that children sit at a table

and find an activity until the whole

class has arrived. We usually do morning work from 7:45- 8:00 am

Colton started his day with

the bands and peg boards

Teddy chose play doh

Hazel began her day by building with

the mini  blocks

Addie joined Hazel with blocks

as well as the people

Oliver also wanted to build blocks

Morning Meeting

after morning work we come to the blue 

carpet for the morning meeting

I give the children LOTS of choices on what

"pose" they would like to sit

Sitting in just one "pose" or position for too long 

can be difficult. Plus, what is comfortable for one

person may not be comfortable for another.

Having the opportunity

to make choices throughout the day

is important for preschoolers!

Each child will say his/her

name when it is his/her turn

We are slowly learning ALL our jobs

today, and when a child gets here, he/she

we then look and count how many 

friends are NOT here

and how many ARE here!!!

Next is Jesus Time

Mason led us in the Invocation

The Invocation Leader has

parts to say and the class responds:

We will practice this daily!

Leader says:  We begin in the name of

God the Father

Class says: Who created us

Leader: And in the name of God the Son

Class: Who died for us

Leader: And in the name of God the Holy Spirit

Class: who comforts us

There are also hand motions

I will show more with the motions as the

days go on.....

We read a story from the bible

I told the children the Bible is a very special book

and ALL the stories in this book are TRUE!!!!

We read

Jesus loves the Little Children

we also talked about how much 

Jesus LOVES each of us!

YOGA TIME

Our Yoga Instructor gets

to pick a YOGA POSE

and led the class

Addie chose SKI POSE

We also briefly introduce SECOND STEPS

Second Steps is our social emotional curriculum

we looked at this card and talked about

how we thought this little boy was

feeling about his 1st day of school

this is a hard concept and it will take some

practice.......

but so very sweet to

hear the children prayer
