Charleigh thinking
about what job
she would like...

Learning to make choices
is a HUGE part of
preschool

Provide young children with opportunities to
make choices reinforces:
independence, gain a sense of responsibility
and confidence as well as
giving them a sense of
"power or control over their day"

So decision making like
what job do I want or
what morning work do
I want to do first
are perfect opportunities!!

Charleigh then chose to color
first for morning work

Oliver chose
these fun loose parts to play with first

Then Oliver, Charleigh and
Lincoln wanted to
play with the
play doh

Addie having fun
with the peg board

Hazel is using the bristle blocks

Isaac chose the
magnetic blocks to play with first

Oliver is working on putting
these circles back together
on the peg..... a great problem
solving activity as it works
best if you
place them from biggest to
smallest

Lots of friends are having
fun chatting and
coloring

Morning Meeting

Carson was our
attendance helper

1 friend NOT at school
13 friends AT school

This can be a challenging
pose

STORY TIME

Lincoln was weather helper

He chose rainbow
When friends chose
RAINBOW... it means they are
having a HAPPY kind of day!

Nora volunteered to be
prayer leader

Teddy was our
snack manager

SNACK

Mason asked me to take a picture of
him holding
this book because
his sister has a book
similar at home

So Addie also
wanted a picture with
a book
😁😁😁😁

Handwriting without
Tears

BIG Line
Little Line

I talked to the children
how we use lines
to make LOTS of
letters!!

we got to use 1 BIG line
and 1
LITTLE line

I asked them to hold up their BIG
LINES

Then hold up their
LITTLE LINES

We then sang a
Tap, Tap, Tap song
that reinforces following
directions!!!

The children LOVED it!!

After we sang the song
we tried making the
letter L
with the
BIG LINE
and the
LITTLE LINE

Next was Center Time

Trains are always a
popular choice!

Nora and Bria
chose to paint
at the art easel
today

Lots of friends patiently
waiting
for "loose parts"
to make
creations

TRAINS

Teddy using the work
bench

Teddy than went over and made
a creation!!

A few friends and I

(Winston, Oliver and Lincoln)

These boys were enjoying
expanding
the train tracks
across the room

Mason was our exercise
leader today

PUSH UPS!

PUSH UPS are a
little challenging

PRAYER REQUESTS:

Wow! I am impressed with
how quickly my friends
are picking up on
prayer requests
time

One of the sweetest part
of the day!!!

We had some time left at the end
for MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS

Sometimes it is hard to not
get the musical
instrument you were hoping for

I talk to the children about how this might happen....someone
else may chose the instrument
before it is your turn to chose.
I also told them that is OK....Disappointment is OK
we will do instruments
LOTS of times and you will get a chance to
play the one you really want...
it may not be today, but you will get a turn!

The majority handled this really well

a few were really disappointed

again this is ok
and a huge part of
preschool is learning how to handle
disappointment and then being able
to make another choice!!!

The children love

to play the instruments

we play along to a song
that reinforces following
directions and also
self-control
(like play really slowly
or really fast or
being able to sSTOP when the music stops)

Hazel was the line leader
so she got to chose our
GOOD BYE RHYME

Gotta Go, Buffalo!
