Tuesday the class talked  about wanting a mail truck
so today we began working on it!

Lots of painting our big box

So much fun and hard workers

There were other activities on the tables for
morning work

Then we had a guest reader,
Nicholas, Charlie's cousin,
is in the 3rd grade here at Zion

Charlie was so excited to have Nick
read to us

Then we sang
Happy 1/2 Birthday

I love this...
so sweet!!!

Then we read from the bible.
We learned how Jesus fed
5,000 people from 2 fish
and 5 loaves of bread

Then we brainstormed questions for
our guest, mail carrier

we had so many questions....
(below I took a picture of the questions)

Getting ready to play in the snow
is a learning experience all in itself!

The children LOVED
playing in the snow

And many wanted to eat the snow

Here was a big patch of ice

Icicles were discovered hanging
from the frog

more exploring of icicles

Some held the icicles

Time for a break

Snack Time
This class has transitioned
beautifully to pouring their
own milk at snack

Here are the many questions

Making a thank you card for our
visitor

Our visitor, a retired mail carrier
and good friends with Eddie's
grandpa

Eddie loved having his grandpa here

A picture with our visitor

Eddie and his grandpa

The class was so excited to give our guest
the thank you cards and he was SO
sweet with the kids to loo at
each one......
All the kids wanted to show the card they
made

And then we showed our visitor the
post office we made
as well as the mail truck we are constructing

Everyone wanted our visitors attention
and he was SO sweet to
spend time listening to everyone!!!

Samuel has plans to construct his
own "toy" mail truck he can bring home
1 st step...paint it white....
he really wanted to move on to the next
step of painting a red and blue stripe
but I had to convince him it would work
better when the white paint is dry

Delivering mail to Mrs Stanglein's
class

Monroe chose running in
place for our exercise today
