Writing center during morning work

These letters are fun to
play with

Monroe is SUPER curious about
the keys to this cash register...

So he brought a few keys from
 home to try
All the kids were very interested and
wanted a chance to try..

So we made it an option during center time

Yesterday we learned about Jesus
and how he can do amazing things...
even heal the sick...
I read from the bible about the 10
lepers

Today we talked more about the 10 lepers and what it
might be like to have had
to live far away from everyone and with
your sores bandage..it might be hard to do
everyday things.....

Life was hard for those who had leprosy

Those who wanted to took a turn
pretend their hand was bandaged
(using my mitten and then hand balled up/fisted) we
tried picking things up

It was hard!

After those who wanted a turn went we talked
about what it would be like to live everyday
not being able to do things....
then we talked about how THANKFUL those
10 Leper must have felt when Jesus healed
them...... But only returned to say THANK YOU!

We then practiced saying thank you and I talked about how
important it is to show others we are thankful for
what they do for us!!!

OUTSIDE!!!

COLD BUT SO FUN!!!

The children discovered ice!!!

Evie and Samuel hung
out in the tire

SNACK TIME!!!

Center TIME

Many were interested in trying the keys.....

in fact if anyone has any old
keys they want to donate to the classroom

They would LOVE it!!!

They discovered
none of the keys worked but it was sure fun
trying!!

WE did an experiment today!!

I broke the children into small groups

We talked about a gingerbread cookie
(we used the ones that the Thursday class
made)

We drew a picture of what the
gingerbread cookie looks and feels
like.......

Then we guessed what would happen
to the gingerbread man when he
gets wet

WE WATCHED!
It floated at first then sank

Then broke apart

Each group got a new cup of
water and gingerbread man and got to observe
what would happen

The children enjoyed observing what was happening

Evie was excited to show me her painting
she made a volcano!

All the other gingerbread man cookies
sank after less than 1 minute....
Trente's floated and floated
but when we took it out...it much  mushy

Brody chose push ups
10 push ups for todays exercise!
