Lenten Devotion
We read this story
today
2nd steps....
After taking a few minutes to look at this
picture....
we all talked about how we thought
she was feeling by looking at her face.
The children said they thought she was sad, mad, or frustrated.
She was probably feeling all those things
Frustrated is the word we concentrated on
Titanna was feeling frustrated because she
could not get here shoe tied..
We talked about ways to CALM
our bodies when we have
STRONG (BIG) feelings
belly breathes
hand on belly..say I am OK
some of the children's ideas
cuddle with a stuffed animal
take a nap
read a book
INDOOR OUTSIDE TIME
with Mrs Cooper's Class
with Mrs Cooper's Class
Mrs Cooper's Class loves to
play in our dramatic play
ring toss
stepping stones
dancing
play doh
Building with cardboard
blocks

Last day for R
Today we brainstormed ideas
for what we want to learn about next.
Last Thursday a few friends had said
zoo animals and space....
we will ask tomorrow's friends
too and keep putting out new things
and see what sparks the most interest
CENTER TIME
The animals I found were not
exactly zoo ---more
pets for a vet center
and a rocket ship
Also making creations
For a creation and
language arts assessment
A variety of materials..
the children can create and use the material
however they would like
Then they told
me about what they made
Building with the
magna tiles...
Luke was exercise leader
Running In Place
Zoey was yoga instructor
Ski Pose
Prayer Requests
We finished with a few extra minutes..
So we played MYSTERY BEAN BAG
Each bowl has a number
1-12
I asked the children to close their
eyes and I hid the bean bag.
Then I go down the line of kids and the
children can guess a number...
Then I give clues...
like the bean bag is under a bowl
with a number BIGGER/SMALLER
than
the number that was guessed
and I also can give more than one clue..
Like this one was..
it is under a bowl with a number bigger than 5
but smaller than 7
This is such a great game...
reinforces number recognition
problem solving
listening
understanding concepts like BIGGER/SMALLER
and the understanding value
of the number (like 5 is smaller than 8)
Simon was our
line leader
