This is another parable
Jesus used stories to teach lessons...

This story starts by a land owner and his
2 sons, one sons wanted to get his inheritance
and leave----- his father was sad to see him go BUT let him
The son spent ALL his money, didn't work or save or make good decisions...

Soon he had nothing and needed to work to
be able to eat. He decided to go ask his father for forgiveness
His father celebrated and rejoiced when his son returned.
Even though his son did things he wasn't
supposed to do
his father forgives him and rejoices

God is the same
He will always welcome us back home
He loves us no matter what

we then read a few examples and I asked the children if
God loves us when...
we pray
do kind things
listen to our parents
hit a friend
be unkind
not listen

YES He loves us for all of the above!!!
God may not be happy when we
are unkind , but He always LOVES US!!
