Ben was our attendance helper
we have 14 friends

Jacob was our invocation leader
Mrs Koenen helped Jacob led....
and I helped the friends with the responses
We sang:
Read, Read, Read
the bible.
God wants us know
that it is a special book
and He loves us SO
we then talked about our THEME
VERSE: CHOSEN
we are ALL CHOSEN children of GOD
we are CHOSEN to be
who we are( and I called each child by name---huge smiles from all)
we are also CHOSEN to be a part of
the family we are in---and
CHOSEN to be a part of our SCHOOL FAMILY
I asked the children what are
some things we do
to take care of our family...
Friends raised their hands
and shared their ideas......
Next we did YOGA
Cecilia was
our YOGA INSTRUCTOR
She chose
Tree Pose
Next we did
Second Steps
our Social Emotional Curriculum
we looked at this picture and talked
about how we thought this
boy was feeling.......
nervous, scared, worried.....
it is his 1st day of school
we talked about ways to help
a friend if we saw someone feeling
nervous (sad, scared, worried, etc..)
We compared it to ways we would help
our family and I told the children we are
a SCHOOL FAMILY
and need to help each other....
Austin was light helper
Ellie a door holder
Mack was also a
door holder
Learning about walking in a line...
just saying walk in a line
really doesn't mean much for a preschooler....
but it is more helpful to the children for me to
say---please walk behind Lincoln (or whoever
is right in front of them)
But with it being our 1st Monday
( each day same of the children will be the
same but we have many combinations
of days children attend school this
year---so each day is a new combo of kids)
I am pretty impressed with this
line!
Foster was our gate keeper
A few friends just
ran and ran......
💛💚💙
A few friends being SO
helpful with drying off the
slide...
Climbing the
BIGGEST TIRE!!
Foster and Lincoln really
enjoyed playing in the
Mud Kitchen
I heard Lincoln say
I LOVE being a CHEF!
Hard to capture running
photos, but many children were
just RUNNING!!!
Charleigh and Mack were selling
Lemonade
Fun on top of the mountain
As we were walking back to
our classroom, the parking lot next door
had construction workers
with a BIG CEMENT TRUCK!!
we moved a little closer to get
a better view
STORY TIME
we really enjoyed this book

Samuel's job today was
weather helper
SUNNY
Rowen was our
Prayer Leader
Ellie was SNACK MANAGER
SNACK
HAND WRITING WITHOUT TEARS:
we will first explore letters that are
only made from lines!
I will alternate doing
MYSTERY BAG on
Monday/Tues
so everyone can experience
MYSTERY BAG
But we will do
HANDWRITING WITHOUT TEARS
(HWT)
everyday!!
Mystery Bag is a time when I introduce the letter
we will explore each week...
I put several pictures of items that begin
with that letter in the MYSTERY BAG... show them to the children
one at a time.....
then give the children a few chances to say
what the picture is of...
Leaf
Ladybug
Lion
Next I show them the lines that
are used to make the letter
ONE BIG LINE
ONE LITTLE LINE...
Then I ask for a volunteer to make the
letter...
Cecilia made a L!!
and the Letter is L!!
Luke was our teacher assistant
teacher assistant gets to point
to the letters---as the weeks go
on there will be more letters to point to
CENTER TIME
Winston wanted to play with
the TINKER TOYS from
morning work
I put the colorful blocks from
last weeks morning work in our sensory table
The children really enjoyed playing
and creating with them!
AUSTIN ENJOYED CHECKING
OUT THIS
HOUR GLASS
Samuel likes the
rotary phone
Jacob chose to do this
puzzle for the beginning of center time
Dramatic play
A few friends did individual work
with me....
Foster wanted to show me
the castle he built
Samuel enjoyed
cutting with these scissors.....
Rowen joined Winston(who played
with the TINKER TOYS the entire center time)
with the
TINKER TOYS
Winston was our
Superintendent Today
Maisie was our exercise leader
She chose
run in place
PRAYER
At the end of the day, I ask the children for
PRAYER REQUESTS!!
This is one of my absolute favorite times of
the day!!! The children are so thoughtful and caring for others.
In years past I always kept it
pretty open ended
teaching many aspects of pray at once
LIKE THANKFUlNESS and
PLEASE HELP
But I have learned the THANKFULNESS___
turns into a LONG LIST!!!! Which the children get excited
to hear me saying everything they said
BUT
I decided for prayer requests I am going to concentrate
on teaching the children
we can PRAY and ask GOD for help
So for now we are going to
say... GOD please Help.....
Here are the friends who raised their
hands and added to our prayer...
Overtime everyone will be adding to our prayer...
After all requests have been made, I say a group prayer
adding the parts your children said (the children LOVE to hear their name)
and then I ask them to say
THANK YOU for one thing (verbally) as we
go around the circle...
PRAYER TIME IS THE BEST!!!
Lincoln was our line leader
and got to chose the
good bye rhyme
ADIOS, HIPPOS!
