Happy Tuesday
Time to sign in......
And yesterday we started choosing our jobs....
SO many to chose from...
Choosing a daily job is an important
part of our day....
It helps make the children
feel like an active part of our class
and
making choices can be hard--choosing a job daily
encourages choice making (as well as problem solving
if someone has chosen the job you wanted)
Morning Work Activities
Tinker Toys
Calvin chose to
play with the Kinex blocks
first this morning
Tangram puzzles
ABC PUZZLE
Foster told me he built a CRANE
PLAY DOH FUN!!
LINCOLN WAS OUR
ATTENDANCE HELPER
OTTO SIGNING IN
AND THEN CHOOSING HIS JOB
Ella was our
Invocation Leader
Mrs Koenen helped Ella
say her part
And I helped the rest of the
class say the response
Emmy was our
YOGA INSTRUCTOR
She chose
ski pose
Heading Outside
Otto chose to be a
door holder
Lucas was also a door holder
Mack was our
gate keeper
We have LOTS of
big tires on our
playground
The children enjoy rolling them
Builds self confidence and
BIG muscles
STORY TIME
we talked about whether
(BY LOOKING AT THE COVER)
If this book was going to be a true
story(NON FICTION) OR a pretend story(FICTION)
The children decided that this story
was going to be FICTION
(BECAUSE MONSTER AREN'T REAL AND
DON'T GO TO SCHOOL)
Arwen was our
librarian today
She got to put our book on my desk
Kennedy was our
weather helper
SUNNY
Charlotte was our
prayer leader
Here is the prayer she chose
I took a close up so you can practice our
different prayers
at home too
Cecilia was our
snack manager
SNACK
Oliver was our teacher
assistant
Yesterday we introduced the letter L
We are going to learn all the letters made from
just lines....
We talk about the sound the L
makes and then we try to come up with words
that start with that letter
Center Time
Winston chose blocks first today
Art easel was a popular
choice today
ART CREATIONS
Kennedy had fun
with all the manipulatives
Dramatic play is also a popular area
Calvin wanted to
play trains
And Lucas wanted to play trains too
I had a few more who still needed
to do a name sample
and self portrait for me
did you know by simply standing
to do the art easel
children are building core strength?
As well as developing hand eye coordination and
the art easel encouraging children to cross the
midline
Charlotte wanted to practice writing
her name
Winston was our exercise leader
Squats
Prayer Requests
we are learning about
asking God for help during
our prayer requests time
Then I will say a prayer including each child's
requests Then we go around
the circle and say a Thank You
prayer
we had a few extra minutes
so we played a game
I put out bowls with the numbers 1-12
written on the front
i asked the children to cover(or close0 their eyes
no peeking
I then hid a bean bag
the children then uncovered their eyes and took
turns guessing which bowl the
bean bag was hidden under
I would give clues after a child makes a guess
like the bean bag is under a bowl with a number smaller than
the number 5
this game the children love and it
reinforces number recognition and introduces them to the
concepts of bigger/smaller than
Calvin was our line leader
and chose
TAKE CARE,POLAR BEAR
for our good bye rhyme
