THE CHILDREN WERE CURIOUS ABOUT THE
BLACK TIP OF THE CHRYSALIS....
The black tip of a chrysalis, where it attaches to a surface, is called the cremaster. This appendage contains tiny hooks that help the chrysalis firmly adhere to a silk pad.
