(for having them)
DAY 6

Flannel board with

The children enjoyed the
Hungry Caterpillar
board book and story pieces last week
SO I got it out again
MORNING MEETING
Lyla's turn
to care for
Little Puppy
Charlie was
attendance helper
EVERYONE came to school today!!
Today's story...
This story is not as familiar to the
class and no one had any guesses
by looking at the picture....
The Road To Emmaus
Zippy came
He brought an Alleluia Shaker
because he was so excited he wanted to
shake his shaker and celebrate....
He asked the class if they had
heard the GOOD NEWS>>>>
Everyone knew the GOOD NEWS
JESUS IS ALIVE
HE ROSE FROM THE DEAD
Then I told the children the story
about 2 men/disciples
were walking down the road to town called
Emmaus( On easter Morning--- they 1st Easter)
from Jerusalem(about 7 miles)
They had heard that the women found
Jesus' tomb empty
BUT they really didn't
understand what that meant
Then a 3rd man appears
(JESUS)
and begins walking with them
The other 2 men didn't know
it was JESUS
Jesus began preaching and telling the men
about scripture
When they got to town
the 2 men invite the 3rd man
into their house their house
and to rest and to eat with
them
When the 3rd man blessed and broke
the bread...
THE OTHER 2 IMMEDIATELY KNEW WHO
HE WAS ... BUT THEN HE WAS GONE
THE 2 MEN RAN ALL THE WAY
BACK TO JERUSALEM
SHARING THE GOOD NEWS
JESUS IS ALIVE
Today's helpers
outside time
There is a path in the bamboo
where the children like to play
Camden was our
librarian
Harrison was our
Entomologist today
we looked up a few facts about caterpillars:
Caterpillars have 12 eyes
about 18 days then caterpillars are ready to form their chrysalis
Butterflies make chrysalis
Moths make cocoons
once in the chrysalis about 10 days before they emerge
Telling the class
we are on day 6
and the caterpillars have gotten
a lot bigger...
The book Camden chose
JJ volunteered for
weather helper
Ellie was prayer leader
Jacob was snack maanger
snack
Audrey's turn for estimation jar
we are getting the jar ready
Maisie was teacher assistant
OUR BEST GUESSES>>>
12 little duckies....
3 friends had not had the
chance to do Mat Man
(a few other friends just
chose to do it again)
we listened to the song while I put Mat Man together
then we listened again
and children helped
Then friends drew their self portraits
Mat Man encourages body awareness--
it is fun to see if they add more parts or
change how they drew their self
portraits after listening to the song and
putting Mat Man together
Also used it as an opportunity to
get a name sample
Making Butterfly
Symmetry
Camden finishing his color
