DEMONSTRATION ON HOW
A SOLAR ECLIPSE WORKS>>>>
A SOLAR ECLIPSE WORKS>>>>
Flashlight was the SUN
Small ball was the MOON
and the globe of course EARTH
I demonstrated how the SUN shines on EARTH
And how EARTH SPINS...... DAYLIGHT for us
and NIGHT TIME for other Side of EARTH
Told them it takes 24 hours to
complete a rotation (1 FULL DAY)
An eclipse happens when the MOON
moves in front of the SUN
Small ball was the MOON
And we were able to show how the
SUN was blocked from the MOON
and it will be like night time/evening
for a short time...
LIttle bit of light shining
no light shining through
TODAY"S HELPERS
OUTSIDE
BEAUTIFUL DAY!
OUTDOOR CHAPEL:
We gathered outside by the Sycamore tree
the big "rock" was the tomb
we had musical instruments
and sang praises!!
JESUS IS RISEN, ALLELUIA
Then we got to go on an EASTER EGG HUNT!!
Everyone got one egg with a cross inside
(if the cross didn't make it home---let me
know and I will see if church office has any more)
Also each child got an
Easter Book!
Abidaan was our Librarian
FUN BOOK
OUR LAST PLANET

We learned a little info
about it too.......

ESTIMATION JAR...
I did another example
SO that everyone should have had a
chance to see how it works....
I sent a few letters how today in backpacks
Ellie for tomorrow
Austin for Weds
and Abidaan for Friday
Tomorrow I will send one
home for Thursday
everyone will get a chance over
the next month or so
we looked at the jar
and I explained that sometimes small items
don't take up as much room--so look at how big
the item is and make a GUESS
Any number between 1-15
I gave each child a chance
to guess and I wrote down their
guesses...
Then we used this chart to help us count....
there were 10(one piece rolled over
before I snapped the picture)
2 friends guessed 10!!!
