Happy Weds

entomologist

MORNING WORK

Cameron chose
Fairy Garden first

We are also painting a big banner

for a special project(IT IS A SURPRISE)

Tangram Butterfly

We discovered that none of the tangrams

we have actually fit the butterfly

so yesterday we traced the shapes and

this morning I cut out foam/rubber

pieces so the kids could make the

butterfly

Charlie chose to be our botanist

LOTS of friends using the
Fairy Garden

Wyatt and I played

Roll and Cover

we both made patterns
Then Mason wanted to play

So Mason and Wyatt

played together...each making a pattern

with the pom-poms!!

Claire was our attendance helper
ZERO friends gone!!!!

YAY everyone was at school today!!!!!!

15 friends at school today!

Next weds we are having a guest speaker

A plant expert(botanist)..AKA my life long friend

She works at a nursery in the Richmond Heights

Garden Heights Nursery

She is very knowledgable and I am so excited for her to come

Below is a list of questions the children
came up with that they want to ask
next Weds

Jemma was our offering helper
PINE YARD FUN

STORY TIME

Such a cool book with beautiful illustrations

Colton was our weather helper

Jemma was our prayer leader
Cameron was snack manager

SNACK

Estimation Jar

Mason was our estimation jar person
We had to do it in 2 shifts

because some friends were planting
I made(like) a 10's square

to better show the children the numbers

and also to help show how close or far

away their estimations are....

So for example, when one friend estimated 9 and the answer
was 10... I asked how many more should we
add to get to 10

PLANTING

Everyone got to plant

(just not able to get pictures of every group)

PLUS we had students from Lutheran High

helping us!!!

The class is SO excited!!

A few friends still needed to cut out their

"houses" so we can make our

own individual "greenhouses"today!

Next each child starting
working on our
"greenhouses"

Very wet paper towel

and a lima bean..sealed in a baggie, then placed in the window

YAY!! we can't wait to see what happens
These are the students from

LUTHERN HIGH

Former Zion Graduates

Today is LHS day of service
all students have the whole day to work
and serve their community
we were very lucky to have these girls to help
us today!!

Carson having fun with

the trains and a wooden ball

Matthew was our superintendent

Nora was our YOGA INSTRUCTOR

Jemma volunteered to be our

exercise leader
she chose running in place

Charlie, our botanist, sharing

his findings

Addie, our entomologist, sharing her findings

and adding a day to our counting...we are on day 16

on day 11 our caterpillars had all made
