we chose to eat indoor because of the heat

Just to introduce the children to 

the lines... we sang a LISTENING song

with them

Tap, Tap, Tap... it is a great song to 

reinforce following directions

The song prompts the children to TAP lines together

on the side... like a drum, etc.....

everyone did a great job

SECOND STEPS

Our social emotional curriculum

Today we talked about welcoming NEW FRIENDS 

to school

which was perfect because we had 2 new friends start today!

I introduced Jay J, the puppet

It was Jay J's first day of school

and we talked about how we welcome new friends

by introducing ourselves

and maybe giving a HIGH 5

or handshake

So Jay J went around the room and introduced himself

and ALL the children did a great job introducing

themselves and then giving him a high 5!

And then another students asked if he could take pictures

CENTER TIME

a few new centers

sensory table filled with beans

and each child's name

Plus some ABC circles

Mason wanted to paint at the art easel

but it was full SO he 

signed up to be next

Did a nice job writing his name!!

Birthday Canvas.... we our doing a process art project

Step 1..... painting our canvas

Step 2..... when it is your child's bday

or if your child has a summer bday(we will do 1/2 bday)

he/she will decorate the canvas.. we will display in the foyer for

all to see
