Happy Monday
New Play invitations:
Building a snowman
Graphing Snowflakes
Using different gems or rocks to cover a snowflake
Tristan and Teagan chose Building a snowman first
Now Tristan is graphing snowflakes
Matthew really enjoyed building a snowman
He spent most of morning work here
and was very proud to show off
his work
For Thursday of National Lutheran Schools week
we get to dress up however the class decides
Today we talked about different idea
and came up with 2 to vote from
Princess/Super Hero or Sports......
And the winner is........ Princess/Super Hero
Claire was the invocation leader
Today we learned about one of the many miracles
Jesus performed. Today was about Jairus' daughter
When there was a happy part to the story
I held up the HOORAY picture
and when there was a sad part
I held up the OH NO picture
We also talked about the difference between
magic and a miracle
I was impressed a few of my friends from last
year remembered the difference
Magic is pretend and the person is trying to
make you believe something that isn't real
and a miracle is
REAL
And only Jesus has the power to
perform miracles
Ella chose downward dog for the yoga pose today
FOR NATIONAL LUTHERAN SCHOOLS WEEK
we will have a few extra special surprises
Today was an activity brought to us from
LEAPS AND BOUNDS
Leaps and Bounds talked to us about how sometimes our bodies
move to FAST or too SLOW and during those times it may be hard to
concentrate and learn
and other times our bodies are moving just right
and it is easier to learn and listen during those times
SECOND STEPS
We talked about the feeling of being FRUSTRATED
the children shared stories of when
they may have felt frustrated or many
liked to share stories of someone they knew
who seemed frustrated to them
TOO RAINY for outside time
Story Time
Ella was weather helper today
Teagan was prayer leader today
Carly was snack manager
SNACK... we are trying snack at the tables for a bit
probably until spring and we can eat outside again
After the kiddos finish snack, they can clean up
and go read a book
So friends (or siblings) from last year
really enjoyed the class book
So fun seeing themselves or
friends from last year
SHOW AND SHARE
Brody's turn for show and share
So fun and fun watching the children really enjoy this
part of their day
MYSTERY BAG
the clues are
quilt, queen and quail
then i got out 2 big curves and one little
line and told the class that is what
parts were needed to make our letter
this week
Brody and a few others said, " I know what it is!"
Brody came over and made it for us..
Then the class gave me a few Q words to write on our letter chart
CENTER TIME
Many of the children have beenTALKING
a lot about dinosaurs
so i brought a few in for them
to explore and check out
ART PROJECT: Crayon Resist with salt painting
First I just told the children to draw with the white
crayon on the white piece of paper
of course most said, "I can't see anything"
I told them to be patient and
what to see what happens
After they were done drawing
the children painted over the
crayon with liquid watercolors
Soo cool.. the crayon "RESISTS" the liquid
and then you can see what you drew
I also brought in a dinosaur mountain... definitely a favorite
everyone wanted a chance to play here
A few friends brought in a stuffed animal for jammie day
and the children were able to pray with them
THEN
we had MUSIC AND MOVEMENT...
we listen to music and played along with
our instruments
They absolutely loved it!!!!!
