We role played today.....
One child pretended to be the parent bringing their child to school
one child pretended to be a child(nervous) on his/her 1st day
one child was the teacher
and another child was a friend who invites
the nervous child to come play

We talked about if we see a friend who is feeling nervous
sad or scared we can help by inviting
then to play with us 

The kids did GREAT

I took individual photos of each child today
I talked to them about drawing a self-portrait
and what that means.
We talked about what color eyes, hair or clothing
they are wearing.  As each child came over
to draw, I also showed them the picture
of themselves
