As part of our Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum
we have Big Lines and Little Lines we get to hold and experiment
with.  He gets them prepared for learning letters.  We start with the lines that use only lines...like
L or I.......

We got to sing Tap, Tap, Tap song that teaches
 following directions with the lines

Then I had a mystery bag... each child got to reach in
and only using their hands(not eyes)
and try to feel whether they had
a BIG line or LITTLE line
They had a lot of fun doing this...

In the sensory table, I have a variety of lids with
letters on them.  The kids can play with the lids, match
the letters and spell their names
