CHECKING ON OUR  MARS
SAND>>>

getting a closer look

I asked the children why they
thought Mars was called the Red Planet....

I told them that there are lots of rocks on Mars
that are full of IRON(a metal)... when exposed to the environment
causing Oxidation... which cause it to turn reddish..

So we could see some red in our sand.....
the steel wool is made from metal so when
water is added it causes the steel wool to rust
in turn turning our sand reddish

Foster was our

entomologist today
DAY 9
getting so close to emerging....

DURING CENTER TIME

I told friends they could have a turn
being the entomologist because
so many wanted to do it and
we don't have many days until
