Morning Work
Oliver constructing....
Bria coloring
Colton coloring...
So a little bit of a story
Yesterday I read a book called RED
about a crayon named RED but drew BLUE
Colton asked for a pink
colored pencil and I opened a new box and choice
one based on looking at just the tip of
the pencil... it looked PINK.... but when I pulled it
out the outside of it was BROWN.
Bria and Colton really thought this
was FUNNY. Bria brought up the book from
yesterday and then they told others
when they came over to color!!
These are moments of teaching
I can't even plan for... so much conversation,
recalling of yesterday's story and
"theories" on why the person who
made the colored pencils would do that!!
It was SO great!!
Lots of friends checking out the
colored pencils and coloring
Teddy using the tweezers
and pom poms
Hazel wanted to try
this puzzle again today...
She needed a tad of
help to get started
BUT then....

2nd Steps
Louis and Rosetta were playing
and Rosetta got hurt. So Louis comforted
her and then when she still said she
was hurt he went and got a teacher.
We then practiced with each other...
One friend pretending to get
hurt and then the other
asking if he/she is OK
then we talked about all the ways
we can comfort
someone who is hurt:
talk softly
get a band aid
ask if they are ok
get a teacher

CENTER TIME
The last few days I have challenged the
children to chose a different center(then they
normally go to and then don't try others).
I tell them they can go back to the one that is their
favorite BUT I want them try something
new first.......
we have a few things we
are finishing up....
Colton suggested making
a wreath to help
decorate for our party
Addie thought that was a GREAT idea
and joined in.....
So we started with green construction paper
and lots of random valentines
stickers and ribbons
After they completed their
wreaths...we hung them up
Love this idea!!
Bria was proud of the
way she wrapped up her baby
Decorating a heart for our
party
Colton, Carson and Mason
are using magnetic blocks that
are curved and created a
great SPINNER...... Everyone has
loved doing this all year......
only negative... the magnetics are
just made from plastic and I am
afraid it will crack if it hits too many hard things.....
So I challenged these boys to find
something they can build
that will keep the
SPINNERS from going all
around the room......
They LOVED this challenge......
This "course" as they called it...
was fine for the small spinner but
they found it was too small
for the BIGGER SPINNER....
They made some adjustments.....
Then they decided Mason was the
judge and others would spin... Mason would give
them points....
Lincoln has been enjoying these
plastic animals...
Others joined in.....
Isaac was our
superintendent
Carson was our
yoga instructor
downward dog
Colton was our
